MLRO/Compliance Officer

The MLRO has overall responsibility for the day to day supervision and oversight of compliance with relevant AML legislation, regulations, rules and industry guidance. We expect our MLRO to foster and encourage AML across our Group, the role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong decision making and an ability to manage workload effectively and in a timely manner.


  • Taking the lead role in ensuring the company remains compliant with all relevant regulations, licence requirements and certifications
  • Taking ownership of all technical compliance aspects of regulations and best practice standards.
  • Provide recommendations for systems and procedure enhancements in regard to countering financial crime risk  
  • Contributing to designing, implementing and maintaining internal AML/CFT compliance policy manuals.
  • Arranging, preparing for and managing external audits, and reporting their findings to the board, relevant personnel, and relevant regulators
  • Analysing action points and non-compliance issues raised in audits and ensuring that they are addressed in accordance with agreed deadlines
  • Being responsible for regulatory reporting across the Group's jurisdictions, including scheduling, compiling, checking and uploading reports for submission in conjunction with the relevant key personnel
  • Taking ownership of key aspects of external third-party audits in accordance with licensing requirements
  • Review and amendment of all technical policies to ensure they are up to date with all relevant rules, laws and regulations and ensure that proper processes are in place to reflect such policies
  • Proactively research technical requirements and regulations for all relevant markets, and liaise with senior management and relevant personnel to enable solutions for compliance within that relevant market
  • Investigate tech requirements for new markets and assist with developing solutions for that market
  • Continuously assess product, compliance, and operational risks, and develop risk management strategies for the organisation, and scheduling of compliance tasks
  • Work closely with the relevant regulators to ensure the company is compliant, including acting as a point of contact for such bodies and notifying them of key events as required


Requirements


  • Two years of full-time experience in regulatory compliance/anti-money laundering
  • Working knowledge of Responsible Gaming and AML/CTF regulations and guidance:
  • Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA)
  • 4th EU Anti-Money Laundering Directive
  • Maltese Gaming Act (and all associated directives)
  • Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice (LCCP)
